Photo of the Aurora Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights at Kp 4.3 , which is considered below minor storm levels, but was just enough for the aurora to outshine the full moon. The shot was taken over Ness Lake. Northern British Columbia, Canada.
Small cascade in the south western end of Maligne Lake. It’s a testimony to how brutal the winters are up here high in the Rockies that not even moss seems to be growing on these falls. I have only seen one picture of this waterfall up on the web and it was named as Teardrop Falls but my GPS for this spot does not correspond with where Teardrop Falls or Pin Cushion Point is on the map so I assume it’s another unnamed fall. The peak of fall colours in the hinterland around Quesnel as some stormy weather closes in. As an Australian who grew up without such dramatic autumn colours it’s fascinating to watch the seasonal changes up here in Northern BC and just how quickly it transitions from green forest, to firry fall colours, to a white blanket of snow.
