The last of the winter ice clings to the canyon surrounding Overlander falls as spring takes hold. The falls are named after the Overlanders expedition of 1862 when a group of around 150 men with one woman (and her three children) travelled across the prairies and through the Rocky Mountains to BC, intending to reach the Cariboo goldfields. The falls are in the early mountainous stretches of the Fraser River which subsequently flows 1,375 kilometers (854 mi) downstream towards Vancouver. Mt Robson Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.
A stormy Athabasca Falls with Mount Kerkeslin 2,956 m (9,698 ft) in the background. Cant wait to see these falls covered in snow soon. Kerkeslin is the highest peak of the Maligne Range. Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.
