A throwback to late autumn at Kittil falls. I love the orange green colour the moss goes after it’s been snowed on for the first time in the season. There are so many little known gems up here in Northern BC that rarely get any visits. British Columbia, Canada.
Never lose sight of the little things in life around you. Small cascade on Browns River Creek along the track up to Silver Falls. Fern Tree, Tasmania, Australia
Spring creates some interesting conditions in the mountains as the ice melts and the rivers begin to burst through their icy cages like awkward teenagers trying to find their feet. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes incongruous, but always exquisite. This shot is taken of the lower falls in Johnson Canyon and turned out to be quite a challenging shoot in the middle of the day. It took a panorama of eight wide angle shots at 16mm (with a full frame sensor) stitched into this single square to capture what I felt was a realistic representation of the falls and the pool below with minimal edge distortion. I was trying to create something that captured the feeling of the tight canyon wrapping around you on the viewing ledge after passing through the small, dark, slippery, icy tunnel to get there.
