A medieval high celtic cross at the Kilree monastic site, in County Kilkenny. The cross is believed to be from the 9th century and is possibly that of the Northern O’Neill High King, Niall Caille, as he drowned in the nearby Kings River in 844AD. There is a 29 metre traditional high round tower in the background. Most of the round towers in Ireland date from 950AD-1100AD Ireland.
