Dawn reflection of Mount Assiniboine (3,618m or 11,870ft) over Magog Lake. I took this shot after spending most of the night up on Nub Peak and descending with head torches. Somehow still awake thanks to a delirious mix of caffeine and adrenalin. The landscapes around Mt Assiniboine have to be one of the most beautiful parts of the world I have shot in. Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.
A 20 shot panorama looking down over Lake O'Hara and Mary Lake. I would normally not shoot photos in the middle of the day however you really can’t appreciate the spectacular colours of these lakes unless you have overhead sun. Ten minutes before I took these shots the family sheltered in a small rock cave while a hail storm passed over. We experienced the full gamut of Canadian alpine summer weather on this trip with rain, hail, snow, wind and sunshine at various times. Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada
The mountains can be so seductively peaceful sometimes, it’s easy to forget how quickly that can change. Something to keep in mind as we travel though life. Not a breath of wind at Berg Lake for blue hour on the first night we were up there. From an altitude of 1,646 m (5,400 ft) the North Face of Mt Robson rises a further 2308m (7572m) out of the lake to a total height of 3,954 m (12,972 ft). Robson is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Mount Robson Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.
