Ice climbing on the Perito Moreno Glacier. The glacier consists of over 250 km2 (97 sq mi) of ice spanning 30 km (19 mi) in length and a width of 5km at its terminus. One of 48 glaciers that form part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the high altitude ice field has a total area of 12,363 km2 (4,773 sq mi) of ice. Powder day in the Canadian Rockies. We had crazy amounts of snow on this trip with the peak of the snowstorm culminating in Lake Louise getting 71cm (2.3 feet) of snow in 24 hours creating epic champagne powder conditions for snowboarding. The snowstorm did however close the roads heading both North and West and result in our 8 hour drive home turning into 15 hours. Lake Louise, Banff National Park.
